Which group is right for me? Everyone will set off together, then after around 1-2km we will split everyone into our Intro & Taster groups. Those most comfortable doing around 10km and everyone else enjoying around 7km of wonderful guided trail running.
What is an LTR Intro? LTR Intros are guided group trail runs aimed at novices - those who are looking to start trail running or improve their confidence and basic skills on the trails. Unlike our slightly longer and more challenging 'Taster' runs, our Intros are a mix of WALKING, JOGGING and RUNNING with multiple stops along the way, all in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It's very important that everyone who books onto an Intro is 100% comfortable with going NO FASTER THAN THE PACE OF THE GUIDE and waiting to re-group on numerous occasions.
What is an LTR Taster? LTR Tasters are our intermediate guided group runs. Unfortunately our 'Tasters' are not aimed at everyone who'd like to run on the trails. Unlike our 'Intro' runs, our 'Tasters' are quite challenging as we aim to make them an insight into our longer 'Regular' runs. If you're not actually comfortable running at a steady pace over tricky terrain you may well struggle on a Taster and unintentionally affect other runners' experiences. Unless you are a relatively confident and frequent runner we strongly advise trying our 'Intro' run first - we can then advise whether you'd be more suited to stepping up to one of our 'Tasters' or 'Regulars'.
What is the route? Heading out from Witton Park we will go up through Billinge Woods, picking up the Witton Weavers Way, down through Pleasington Old Hall passing the River Darwen before a woodlands section taking us back into Witton Arena.
