After a few weeks of unfavourable weather, we were pleased the morning of our Autumn Half Marathon Beacon Fell turned out rather well. Just after 9am on Saturday 4th November our lively, enthusiastic group set out from the Visitor Centre at Beacon Fell ready to hit the trails. Significant recent rainfall meant many of those trails were going to be very soft underfoot. The route was varied with not too much elevation but some sections were technical and particularly muddy! So towards the end of the route, understandably, most legs were starting to 'feel it'. As is often the case in a social group, everyone rallied, kept chatting and smiling between the odd grimace. After just over 21km of trails and 3hrs of trail running we all made it back in one piece. Today we welcomed runners from as far a field as Derby which is great to hear, and we also had someone join us on their birthday :) So judging by the positive feedback, we'd say it was another successful outing on the trails. If you completed our Half Marathon Beacon Fell, we think there's a good chance: A: Your trail shoes need a serious clean and B: You will sleep well tonight! #GreatEffort #ExploreNaturesGym
