After an unpromising weather forecast it turned out to be a beautiful morning for our latest 'Regular', LTR73 from Whitworth. A lively bunch headed out for an intricate and challenging 16km route which took in Facit and the gorgeous Cowm Reservoir before a quick stop for refreshments. We then guided the group through the stunning Prickshaw Brook valley, over the edge of Bagden Moor and then Whimsey Hill which offered stunning views over Manchester. Possibly one of our favourite routes to date the group finally returned through the stunning Healey Dell Nature Reserve alongside a gorgeous stream - a hidden away but unbelievable area for trail running. Many of the group then stayed for a hearty and social breakfast at Basil's where we were very warmly welcomed (Thanks Steve); it went down a treat before some had up to an hours drive home! As can be expected with a Regular, there were some challenging sections but everyone got round the whole route just fine and we're already looking forward to next weekend's outing for our Ribble Valley uLTRa.
