This Saturday's LTR Taster set out from the Spring Wood Picnic site near Whalley on a slightly overcast but warm August morning. The route started with a bit of an ascent alongside Whalley Golf Club, offering fantastic views of Whalley Nab and across the Ribbble Valley towards Kemple End. Runners were then guided through Deer Park wood, down towards Wiswell and then on to the small village of Barrow. The 10km route returned to Whalley, passing the impressive church with a stint alongside the Calder River before finishing on brilliant wooded trails around Spring Wood. As the run went on the weather picked up and everyone enjoyed some sunny spells, while a few spots of rain right at the finish left everyone feeling it was a well-timed run! It was quite fitting that several of those on this Taster met up in the brilliant 'Taste Buds Cafe' in Whalley for some well-earned post-run refreshments. Our next 10km Taster will be guided on October 1st from West Marton, another new area for LTR.
