What is an LTR Regular? To book onto our 'Regulars' you must be capable of running at a steady pace on tricky terrain for 2 hours or more. Unless you are a confident and frequent trail runner we please ask you to try our most accommodating Intro run or one of our Intermediate (Taster) runs first - we can then advise whether stepping up to one of our Regulars would be appropriate for you.
What's the route? The route heads out over Downham Green and over the historic Downham Bridge on the way to the famous remains of Sawley Abbey (founded in 1147). We will then cross the bridge over the River Ribble, pass the impressive Moorland Boarding School and hit trails down along the river bank beneath Grindleton, towards West Bradford and a mid-run river crossing (optional). The route then heads into Chatburn, passing limestone quarries and finally running beneath Worsaw Hill, also known as Little Pendle, to return to Downham.
