Unwind in beautiful Barrowford, Lancashire, it’s a fabulous location, just minutes from some amazing trail running environments, including the relatively undiscovered Forest of Bowland, magnificent Pendle Hill and world heritage site - the incredible Lake District.
We offer a variety of inclusive packages. It works like this: For every night you book on an Escape, we offer bed and breakfast and depending on your preferences, anything from 10km to 25km of guided trail running.
Your Escape will involve exploring some truly stunning off-road environments – each day also has the option of sampling the menu at one of numerous delightful cafes. We have got so many great routes and fabulous landscapes to share and can offer a huge choice of distances to suit your preference.
About your guide and host, Rodger
As a passionate trail runner, Rodger's spent over fifteen years building up a vast network of intricate trails, mainly in the North West of England, and has been guiding groups and individuals on unique routes for more than 10 years. He's a qualified BTF Level 3 coach with a valid ITC outdoor first aid certificate and takes people’s safety seriously. Definitely a people person, he enjoys providing high quality, friendly, fun and appropriately challenging Trail Running Escapes.
While some background in running and trail running may be beneficial there is no minimum requirement for one of our Escapes. As its your own bespoke trail running holiday, Rodger can plan routes and adapt the runs to suit your fitness or ability level.
All the routes will head out from fabulous locations. We guarantee you will not be disappointed with where your guided trail runs take place.
We can accommodate anywhere between two and five guests per Escape. Depending on your preferences, there are two beautiful, en-suite double bedrooms and a cosy triple bedroom to choose from. We'll put a great spread on for breakfast each day and you'll have full access to a modern, well-equipped kitchen and dining room. There’s wonderful countryside on the doorstep but everyone looking to ‘Escape’ needs a great base, so that’s what we’re offering, right at the heart of Barrowford. It's a thriving little town, with quirky shops, great restaurants and bags to interest those who love the great outdoors.
We normally head to Snowdonia for short breaks so when my wife booked an Escape in Lancashire, I was surprised, but it worked out great and we’ll definitely be coming back to do more running in the area. The room was great, really comfy, and we couldn’t have asked for more from Rodger who took time to devise routes that would appeal to both of us. We’ve seen fantastic scenery, discovered some beautiful villages, eaten like kings and had the benefit of our own personal guide for a couple of days. In short, we loved it.
Perfect if you love running. And if you don’t, you soon will. What a fabulous area! Top-class accommodation, too.
