Our LTR double header weekend continued today with a sunny but rather windy morning on the trails for our latest Taster from Roddlesworth. A good mix of both new LTR runners and returning runners all enjoyed the friendly, social atmosphere and successfully completed the 12km guided run. The intricate route explored some fantastic woodland trails around Roddlesworth taking in the Tockholes Plantations, running alongside the beautiful stream at the head of Roddlesworth and Rake Brook Reservoirs before passing close to Abbey Village. The route then returned through some open fields and farm land to the meeting point where most of the group enjoyed a well-earned drink at the wonderful Vaughn's Country Cafe. Smiles all round showed that everyone enjoyed the Taster, but there was a little reminder that a momentary lapse in concentration and a slightly different route to the rest of the group can mean you end up stuck in deep mud (or a pre-set LTR booby trap, depending on which story you want to believe)! Slightly longer than many of our Tasters, today's run was a good insight into our more challenging Regular run and some of the group definitely left feeling capable of stepping up in future. For those who felt today was at an appropriate level for them our next Taster will be on Tuesday 9th May at 6:30pm from the little-known, but beautiful village of Worsthorne. LTR TASTER - WORSTHORNE
